Founded out of love

Why is there no wool that does not scratch, in beautiful colours and is guaranteed to be produced without animal suffering and exploitation?

Rosy started a long search with this question, which ultimately led to the founding of Rosy Green Wool.

The history of Rosy Green Wool

Rosy grew up near the Swabian Alb, surrounded by the love of animals and the smell of sheep's wool in her grandparents' small spinning mill. Her grandmother taught her everything she knew about knitting and wool quality. After a career as a computer linguist, Rosy returned more and more to her love of knitting and sheep's wool. And so began her search for a pleasantly soft wool that was guaranteed to be produced ethically and without animal suffering. Unable to find such wool at the time, she founded Rosy Green Wool with her husband Patrick in 2012.

Quality with attention to detail

Pascuali GmbH took over the Rosy Green Wool brand in May 2025 and is continuing its vision of producing wool that meets the highest quality standards and is produced ethically and sustainably. All Rosy Green Wool yarns are made from wool from happy sheep from controlled organic animal husbandry. This wool is spun and dyed in a small factory in Portugal according to Rosy Green Wool's exact specifications. The entire range is 100% GOTS-certified - organic and fair.

The mission of Rosy Green Wool

The love for people, animals and nature is at the centre of the brand and is now being continued by Pascuali. The aim of Rosy Green Wool was also to make a positive contribution to the world. In addition to building a sustainable value chain, part of the revenue has been donated to reduce suffering for animals and people: Rosy Green Wool has donated €80,000 to the Against Malaria Foundation over the years to provide mosquito nets for malaria protection and €65,000 to animal welfare organisations such as the EA Animal Welfare Fund.

Pascuali und Rosy Green Wool

With the acquisition of the brand, Pascuali continues the commitment of Rosy Green Wool and will carry on the philosophy of high-quality, fairly produced wool. Pascuali is looking forward to further developing this wonderful brand and inspiring even more people for sustainable and ethical wool production.

Helping people

80,000 € DONATED TO DATE

One of the most effective ways to save lives is to protect people from malaria with mosquito nets. Rosy Green Wool supports the work of the Against Malaria Foundation, which has so far been able to distribute over 42,000 nets with the money raised. Together with designer Melanie Berg, Rosy Green Wool launched the Knitters Against Malaria campaign, in which the international knitting community has donated over €100,000.

Protect animals

65,000 € SPENT TO DATE

There are currently around 110 billion animals in the world - 11 times as many as 50 years ago. And the number is growing rapidly. Most of them live in factory farms where they suffer. At the same time, only 1% of all animal welfare donations go to organisations working to improve this area. Rosy Green Wool therefore donates to the EA Animal Welfare Fund, as well as to the Albert Schweitzer Stiftung für unsere Mitwelt and The Humane League for their corporate campaigns.
