Irregular stripes make the wonderfully soft scarf Piace by designer Felicia di Bono so enjoyable to knit. The versatile two-tone design can be worn with virtually anything and always looks great, regardless of age or gender. Piace is designed with a generous width for snuggling in but can be easily adjusted in length and width to suit your personal preferences. And with your favourite colours, you decide whether you want the contrast of the stripes to be subtle or striking. We like the warm tones of Cornish Slate and Taupe of our Cheeky Merino Joy especially well for this design.
Piace is great for beginners who want to learn knitting German Short Rows or colourwork. The rectangular scarf is worked flat in garter stitch. The pattern begins on the shorter side with a long-tail cast-on. Parts in colour A alternate with irregular stripes in colour B, which are created by German Short Rows. The left and right edges turn out particularly neat and beautiful by an integrated three-stitch I-cord edge on each side.
You need 4 skeins of Cheeky Merino Joy, 2 (200 g) for each colour. The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge. The shawl in the images has been knitted with the colours Taupe and Cornish Slate.
The finished scarf is approx. 75" (190 cm) wide and 15.5" (40 cm) from top to bottom after blocking.

Piace is part of our first own collection 2020 with the theme Joy. It was conceived by Rosy and realized with a team around the world in times of a global pandemic. The pattern names are joyful expressions from different languages. They remind us that joy, diversity and solidarity across borders can give us hope and strength. We adopted the name Piace from the Italian, mi piace means: I like it!
