Level of difficulty: easy

Just like life itself, Flow of Life lets you travel through various sections, each bringing new and exciting elements. This small triangular shawl by designer Frances Othen-Wales is a quick and easy knit - and a wonderful experience for anyone who wants to play with textures for the first time. Alongside garter and broken rib stitches, you can practise knitting decorative lace and an eyelet pattern edge. With just one skein of our Cheeky Merino Joy, you can create a beautiful accessory that adds a splash of colour to your everyday outfits. Or a unique gift for someone whose company you particularly appreciate in the flow of your life.

Flow of Life is knitted from the top down with just one skein. You begin with a garter tab cast-on, then shape the triangular shawl with increases on both right- and wrong-side rows. The main section features alternating sections of garter and broken rib stitches, culminating in a simple lace pattern and eyelet edge. A stretchy cast-off ensures maximum flexibility whilst blocking, giving the shawl its beautiful flowing drape and airy lightness.

The finished shawl is approx. 104.5 cm (43 in) wide and 39.5 cm (15.75 in) from top to bottom after blocking.

You need 1 skein of Cheeky Merino Joy (91 g). The indicated yarn quantity apply according to the gauge. The garment in the images is knitted with the colour Melange Topaz.

The theme of our 2024 collection is inspiration. What inspires us to be inventive, to create something? Which small or big moment plants an idea in us and sets us in motion? With the names of the designs in this collection, we have tried to capture a few of these sparks. Flow of Life lets us feel that life is like a river, beyond all perfection, lavish and beautiful.
