Origin
Open Horizon invites you to embrace the world and everything it has to offer with open arms. This generous yet lightweight bolero by designer Becky Baker exudes a casual or elegant style, depending on your mood. Simply throw it on and feel warm and cosy, enveloped by the soft volume of the beautiful Cartridge Belt Rib stitch. Knitted sideways, it opens up new perspectives and surprises you with its balance of relaxed flow and interesting knitting details.
You knit Open Horizon flat, starting with a Tubular Cast-On on the right cuff. A Cartridge Belt Rib stitch is used throughout the bolero to create a beautiful all-over textured pattern. Four-stitch increases and decreases on the cuffs form an attractive design element. Once all the increases for the right sleeve are complete, a three-stitch I-cord edge is worked on both sides. When the sleeve seams of the bolero are sewn together, this I-cord becomes the edging that runs up the front body and around the neckline and lower egde. Open Horizon offers you two different size options for the comfort you desire.
The finished bolero has a front depth of 37.5 [ 43 ] cm ( 15 [ 17.25 ] in) with a back width of 32 [ 56 ] cm ( 12.5 [ 22 ] in ) and a total length of 165.5 [ 189.5 ] cm ( 66 [ 75.5 ] in ) from cuff to cuff after blocking.
You need 4 [ 5 ] skeins ( 370 [ 486 ] g ) of Cheeky Merino Joy.
The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge.
The garment in the images is knitted with the colour Melange Sand Stone.
