Latvian Braid Left Leaning (Worked Flat)
Note: Braids are worked using two balls of yarn that are the same colour, which we will refer to as Yarn A and B. Therefore, no initial Set-Up Row/Rnd is required as shown in both video tutorials.
Row 1 (WS): Holding both yarns to the back of your work (which is the RS as you have the WS currently facing), using Yarn A, K1, using Yarn B, K1, * Bring Yarn A under yarn B, using Yarn A, K1, bring Yarn B under yarn A, Using Yarn B, K1; rep from * to end.
Your yarn will be twisted. Do not bother untwisting your yarn. It will untwist on its own in Row 2.
Row 2 (RS): Holding both yarns to the front of your work, using Yarn B, P1, using Yarn A, P1, * Bring Yarn B under Yarn A, using Yarn B, P1, bring Yarn A under Yarn B, using Yarn A, P1; rep from * to end.
Latvian Braid Left Leaning (Worked in the Round)
Rnd 1: Holding both yarns to the front of your work, using Yarn A, P1, using Yarn B, P1, * Bring Yarn A over Yarn B, using Yarn A, P1, bring Yarn B over Yarn A, using Yarn B, P1; rep from * to end. Your yarn will be twisted. Do not bother untwisting your yarn. It will untwist on its own in Rnd 2.
Rnd 2: Holding both yarns to the front of your work, using Yarn A, K1, using Yarn B, K1, * Bring Yarn B under Yarn A, using Yarn B, K1, bring Yarn A under Yarn B, using Yarn A, K1; rep from * to end.
