As if painted into the sand by wind and waves - with the unusual diamond pattern on her shawl Amrum, designer Melanie Berg (mairlynd) has captured the special magic of the North Sea island. While knitting you already feel the vastness of the sea, smell the fresh salty air and listen to the calls of the seagulls. The long semicircular shawl is reminiscent of the shape of the island itself and brings out the soft light and dark effects of our new melange colours for Cheeky Merino Joy.
You need 3 (300 g
) skeins of Cheeky Merino Joy. The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge.
The shawl in the images has been knitted with the colour Melange Pure.
The finished shawl is approx. 86.5" (220 cm) wide and 17.5" (45 cm) from top to bottom after blocking.
Needles: US 2.5 (3.0 mm) circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
