Level of difficulty: easy
With its unusual form and exciting combination of ombre colour transitions –here from Cedar via Olive to Haze– and textured lines, Canto will make your heart sing. The hybrid cowl by Winter’s Weather Knits is an easy but interesting knit. While wearing, its tip makes Canto look like a small triangular shawl, even though you simply slip it over your head. Enjoy its cuddly warmth and adapt its size exactly to your preferences. The three-tone design offers wonderful possibilities for playing with the colour palette of our Lovely Merino Treat and creating your very personal colour transitions.
Canto is knitted at an angle in garter stitch rows, then seamed together at the back. To obtain the unusual form with the tip, you work two sections with increases, decreasing in the third. The textured lines are created using simple slipped stitches, while the colour gradient is formed by alternating rows of different coloured yarns. I-cord edges give it a neat finish.
The cowl's full circumference is 62 cm (24.5 in), while the height is 30 cm (12 in) in the back and 65 cm (25.75 in) at the tip in the front.
You need 3 skeins of Lovely Merino Treat, 1 each in Colour A (59 g), Colour B (84 g) and Colour C (69 g). The indicated gram quantities apply according to the gauge. The consumption for the swatch is included in the skein specifications.
The piece in the images has been knitted with the colours Cedar (A), Olive (B) and Haze (C).

The year 2022 is a very special one for us - we look back on 10 years of Rosy Green Wool. Time to remember and also to celebrate. Our collection this year is therefore called Decade. The individual designs honour our anniversary with their names in different languages. Canto means song or I sing in Spanish.
