Streling is a rectangle shawl with ample width and length. The design by Evgeniya Dupliy wraps around you pleasantly, caressing you gently with its sophisticated texture created by a combination of broad stripes in Stockinette Stitch and a simple Slipped Rib Stitch. While knitting, Streling will get you in a relaxing flow allowing you to thoroughly enjoy the light-dark contrasts of the melange colour Sand Stone of our Cheeky Merino Joy. Soft, warm and with a beautiful drape, Streling offers many wearing options - regardless of your age or gender.
With an easy to remember repeat, Streling is great for beginners or advanced knitters looking for a relaxing knit. Knitted flat from one end to the other and starting with a few rows of Rib Stitch, the shawl is worked in stripes alternating 1x1 Half Slipped Ribbing and Stockinette Stitch. You finish with another Rib Stitch section. The clean and sophisticated long edges are obtained by a Two Stitch I-Cord. Adapt the shawl easily to your desired length and width by repeating or omitting sections.
The scarf has a length of 188 cm (74 in) and a width of 40 cm (16 in).
You need 3 skeins of Cheeky Merino Joy (272 g). The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge. The garment in the images is knitted with the colour Melange Sand Stone.

Streling was designed for our 2021 collection, to which Rosy gave the theme of touch. This year, we have all become particularly aware of the importance of interpersonal closeness and touch. More and more, however, it is also becoming clear that we belong together worldwide and that what happens on the other side of the globe also touches us. The names of our patterns express this in different languages. The Dutch word Streling means caress.
