Tahniah celebrates the combination of delicacy and texture. The crescent shawl by designer Susanna Winter plays with the different textures of garter stitch and the fluted fabric stitch in asymmetrical stripes, making for a varied and interesting knit. At the same time, the delicate transitions of the Moods colours Pistachio, Reed, and Dragonfly of our Cheeky Merino Joy give it an elegant lightness. Whether you wear Tahniah casually around the neck or drape it gracefully around your shoulders, it is the perfect company for any occasion.
You start Tahniah with a garter-tab cast-on with three provisionally cast-on stitches, then knit the shawl back and forth from the top down with one-colour sections of garter stitch and two-colour sections of fluted fabric stitch alternating throughout the shawl. The garter stitch sections are shaped with short rows. A three-stitch wide garter edging frames the shawl along the top edge, while an I-cord cast-off worked on the wrong side of the work gives the bottom edge a beautiful finish.
The finished shawl is approx. 224 cm (88.25 in) wide and 38 cm (15 in) from top to bottom after blocking.
You will need 3 skeins of Cheeky Merino Joy: 1 skein (56 g) in colour A, 1 skein (100 g) in colour B and 1 skein (100 g) in colour C. The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge.
The garment in the images is knitted with the colours Pistachio (A), Reed (B) and Dragonfly (C).

The year 2022 is a very special one for us - we look back on 10 years of Rosy Green Wool. Time to remember and also to celebrate. Our collection this year is therefore called Decade. The individual designs honour our anniversary with their names in different languages. Tahniah means Congratulations in Malay.
