The winter holidays bring to mind warm drinks and festive treats, like the favourite cookie of designer Melanie Berg called Zimtstern. With this shawl design, she captures the rich cinnamon and sparkling icing of those delicious star-shaped German cookies. She chose four colours of our wonderfully soft Cheeky Merino Joy, which together form an exceptionally beautiful combination: Tea, Melange Lava, Melange Terra, and Cream. The triangle shawl Zimtstern is knitted from the middle of the upper edge down and outwards. The mosaic pattern looks more complicated than it is, and the pleated border adds a pop of colour. So, dive in, grab your needles and a delicious cookie and savour the time with your loved ones!
You need 4 skeins of Cheeky Merino Joy. The shawl in the images has been knitted with the colours Tea (71 g), Melange Lava (91 g), Melange Terra (74 g) and Cream (74 g).
The finished shawl is approx. 94.5" (240 cm) wide and 27.5" (70 cm) from top to bottom after blocking.
Needles: US 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
