Pattern Neckwarmer Kalmte

Enjoy the feeling of soft comfort with Kalmte. With its pleasantly voluminous half-twisted rib pattern, the neckwarmer by designer Evgeniya Dupliy keeps you warm under your coat in a stylish manner and in just the right places - without being unnecessarily bulky. Knitted with our Big Merino Hug, it comes in three sizes and two collar options: a turtleneck or a roll neck for even more cosy warmth. A design that is always there for you, regardless of age or gender.

Kalmte is knitted seamlessly, starting in rows at the back and shaping the raglan-like shoulder lines with increases. From these lines, you then pick up stitches to knit the shoulders and, at the same time, shape the neckline with increases. The shoulders are then joined by casting on stitches, and the front is worked to the hem without shaping. Finally, you pick up stitches around the neckline to knit a turtleneck or roll neck in rounds, depending on your preference. The entire neckwarmer is worked in a half-twisted rib pattern, with slipped edge stitches and a tubular cast-off rounding off the design.

The indicated gram quantities apply according to the gauge. The consumption for the swatch is included in the skein specifications.

The garment in the images is knitted with the colour Sand.

Needles:

• 4 mm (US 6) 80 cm (32 in) circular needle
• 5 mm (US 8) 80 cm (32 in) circular needle

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Knitting techniques used:

• Backwards Loop Cast-On
• Tubular Cast-Off for 1x1 Rib (Worked Flat)
• Tubular Cast-Off for 1x1 Rib (Worked in the Round)

Kalmte is a design from our 2023 collection. In these turbulent times, there is much cause for reflection. And especially the desire for serenity and calm, for light-heartedness and peace. We have therefore named the designs in this collection after this longing, in different languages. Kalmte means calmness in Dutch.
