Level of difficulty: easy
The Four Seasons Hat Rosy is part of the series with the same name by designer Caroline Hosmann. The pattern describes four beautiful versions, one for each season: the winter version in plain stockinette stitch, the spring and fall versions with cute lace borders, and the summer hat with little flowers all over. However, there is no need to decide on one. The classic bonnet is such a quick and easy knit; why not make one for each season?
The hat is knitted in rows with our Cheeky Merino Joy and shows the light-dark reflections of our colour Melange Honey Pie just beautifully. You work a few decreases for the back of the hat and then sew it together, so the bonnet sits snugly and gets its cute pointed shape. Yarn-overs and decreases form the easy lace stitch that is suitable even for beginners. Make the tie bands precisely as you wish by either knitting an I-cord as described in the pattern, crocheting or making a twine.
You need 1 skein of Cheeky Merino Joy (depending on size approx. 20/30/40/50 g). The indicated yarn quantities apply according to the gauge.
The hat in the images has been knitted with the colour Melange Honey Pie.
Needles: US 2.5 (3 mm) needles, US 1.5 (2 mm) needles for a snug front cuff; possibly US 2.5 (3 mm) double-pointed needles for the I-cord tie bands. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
