Melanie Berg (mairlynd) takes us on a journey to her native region near the Ruhr area. For a long time most of the men worked there in the coal and steel industry. Old mines still characterise the landscape today. Pure inspiration for Melanie Berg. As the name for her design, she has chosen the traditional greeting among miners: Glückauf. It is still used today to wish each other good luck. The fine structural pattern is reminiscent of the conveyor belts of the mines, the smoky colour of the blast furnaces and with its timeless look, this favourite fits effortlessly with every style of clothing.
You need 5 skeins of Manx Merino Fine. The shawl in the images is knitted with the colour Morning Dew.
Needles: US 3 (3,25 mm) circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
