Big Merino Hug
Exceptionally soft, warm, and quick to knit – our favorite for accessories.
Big Merino Hug is our thickest yarn in Aran weight – a yarn that wraps around you like a loving hug. Just as soft as our other merino qualities, but with even more volume. When warmth, coziness, and fluffiness matter, this yarn is the perfect choice. Whether for thick winter sweaters, warm cardigans, cozy hats, or scarves – Big Merino Hug provides you with snuggly comfort. It’s ideal for quick knitting results with added fluff.
Our Production
To give Big Merino Hug its special warmth and loft, we use extra fine merino wool from Patagonia with 19.5 microns – naturally from certified organic animal husbandry (kbT). The fibers are especially soft, without the bulk of the yarn compromising wearing comfort.
Made with care you can feel
We deliberately spin the yarn compactly so that it retains its shape, is easy to work with, and resists pilling – even with larger stitches. The gentle hank dyeing process adds extra softness to the yarn. It’s produced in a small, family-run mill in Portugal, where craftsmanship and attention to detail are key.
Certified fair and pure
Big Merino Hug is GOTS-certified. Fair working conditions, strict environmental standards, and a chlorine-free finish ensure that the yarn is skin-friendly, machine-washable, and sustainable – verified at every stage of production.

Merino wool
Incredibly Soft: The Wool
Soft wool starts with the sheep. We use extra fine Merino wool from Patagonia with 19.5 micron. It not only indulges all the senses but is good for the animals as well - from certified organic animal farming. Guaranteed to be free of painful mulesing, chemical sheep dips or lengthy slaughter transports.
MERINO WOOL
Carefully made: Quality you can feel
We have the yarn spun just firmly enough so that it hardly splits while knitting and the finished garment pills as little as possible. Loosely dyed in skeins it becomes even softer and remains nice and elastic. Making knitting itself a treat already. Small manufactories in Portugal produce the wool according to our strict specifications - using only traditional machines and manual work. This care is also visible in the knitted garments.

Merino Wool
Certified fair and pure
Our wool is climate neutral and 100 % GOTS certified. This means you can be certain that the production does not cause harm to either animals or humans. Fair working conditions, high environmental standards and only a small number of permitted chemicals are regularly inspected by independent organisations. For every single producer and for our company. For example, our wool is made machine washable without using chlorine. The yarn smells good and is better for the skin.
